Hello, I am Sophie
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t in the long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built WildflowerCoop
Most information online came from corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap—practical guidance grounded in real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Does (And Doesn’t)
This site is:
- Direct experience from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Switzerland goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Sophie
